There are/were three separate cemeteries in Irkutsk. 1) Ierusalimskoe Kladbishche, the oldest cemetery which opened in 1900, 2) the Ierusalimskoe Kladbishche cemetery opened after the Ierusalimskoe Kladbishche closed. This cemetery became known as the Amurskoe Kladbishche, and 3) the Novoleninskoe Kladbishche – the new cemetery, opened in 1963 after Amurskoe Kladbishche closed.
We received more than one list of burials for these three cemeteries. After combining the records, we reviewed the results by surname and given name. The resulting combined data resulted in what appears to be some duplicate records when we reviewed the names but with different data when looking at dates of birth and death. We decided to leave all the records in the database since we can not verify either of the potential duplicate records.
