Cemetery Description: |
Luebeck-Moisling Cemetery, KZ-Gräber in Moisling section, Luebeck, Germany. 84 burials total.
Donated by Leonid Kogan of the Jüdische Gemeinde Lübeck (Jewish Community of Luebeck http://www.jg-luebeck.derunet.de) As part of their survey of the Jewish Cemetery of Moisling they made a separate list of Concentration Camp survivors who died in Luebeck after World War Two en route to Sweden. They were survivors of the Bergen Belsen concentration camp. In the summer of 1945 the Swedish government invited them to recover and relax in Sweden. In Lübeck, they had a short stop. Approximately 80 of them died here and were buried. Alongside them were some children of Holocaust survivors, and three children without names, former passengers of the ship "Exodus."
