West Cemetery on Carmel Road in Darlington, the largest of the cemeteries in Darlington, established in 1858, is the final resting place of many of the town’s most prominent residents. The older section of the cemetery contains monuments dating from the height of Victorian funerary grandeur. The Old Jewish Section (one of two areas in the cemetery for Jewish burials) includes extant gravestones dating from 1926 to 1994. This section also includes three military graves of Jewish World War II servicemen.
