Cemetery Description: |
Byerazino's historic Jewish Cemetery was leveled by the Soviets in the 1970s and turned into a park. Only two badly-weathered fragments of matzevot still exist there. The present photos were taken by Alan Kaul in the town's newer Jewish cemetery (burials there date from 1920 to 2013). The gravestone texts were translated by Vitaliy Kosyrkov. Both Alan and Vitaliy have family connections to Byerazino.
