Cemetery Description: |
This information was donated by Charlotte Lugmayr-Frantz from Linz, Austria. This is the cemetery of the KZ (Konzentrationslager or Concentration Camp) Ebensee which was part of the Mathausen group of camps. Holocaust victims are buried in this mass grave and gravefield. The grave had been opened in May 1952 and was transferred to this place. 185 victims were identified by means of batches with registration numbers - all religions buried together. There were approximately 1450 names records of which 315 were Jewish. Both Holocaust victims and Holocaust victims that passed away after liberation are buried here. Some monuments and grave stones were erected by survivors and family members after the war.
