BACKGROUND

This is a list of some of the Jewish soldiers who served in the Boer Armed Forces during the Anglo-Boer War of 1899-1902. The source for the information came from the SA Rochlin Archives, of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies.

DATABASE

This database includes 275 Jews from South Africa that served in the Boer Armed Forces.

The fields in the database are:

  • Surname
  • Given name
  • All Towns (Either where they were from, where they served, or where captured)
  • Date of POW Capture
  • Comments / Notes (Extent of military service elaborated for many individual entries here)
