These were predominantly Sephardic Jews from Rhodes, Turkey and Egypt. This list comes from the book Le Congo Belge et ses coloniaux: livre d�or (L�opoldville: Editions Stanley, 1955) This book was published in at least three editions in 1953, 1955 and 1959. The Jewish community of the Belgian Congo was centered around Elisabethville (today Lumbumbashi) but the Jewish businessmen listed in the book lived all over the country.
