Background

Christel Botterbusch, a member of the Dortmund women's organization Spinnennetz (Spider's Web), prepared a list of approximately 870 Jewish women who lived in Dortmund, Germany between 1930 and 1943.  The information was taken from various sources, such as records held by the Dortmund city archives, reports from survivors, and various books.  Sources are given in each case.  She specifically requested that this file be made available on JewishGen.

The Database

The fields of the database are as follows:

  9. Notes/Comments (This column has a variety of information, such as last address in Dortmund, profession, source of information, date of deportation)
