Prague Fire 1754

Background

A fire devastated the Prague Jewish community in 1754, just a short time after Jews were permitted to return to the city after being expelled from 1745-1748. A list of affected households and the losses was published in Jahrbuch der Gesellschaft für Geschichte der Juden in der Cechoslovakischen Republik Wenzel Zdeck: "Nach dem Brande des Prager Ghetto im Jahre 1754" 1934 No. 500, page 187.
