Wednesday 21 Elul 5696 7.IX.1936

My dear daughter Freida!
How are you my dearest after the heavy grief that happened to all of us? Be strong and brave and the good merciful God, who is merciful to all, will also have mercy on you and will comfort you in your grief. We don't have news, all of us, thank God, are alive and well.
Last Friday I wrote a letter to you and your uncle, but I can't wait until I get a letter from you. My heart is hurting a lot because you were left alone without protection and help, and your only hope, your aunt, passed away…but my daughter, don't despair and don't give up, be brave and strong the way you were at the beginning when you tried to accomplish your goal. May God come to your help. I hope that your sun will shine and your light will glow, and you will forget all the injustice and tragedy that happened to you. Write me if your aunt, May she rest in peace, left you something in her will before she died. In my opinion, you need to contact Rabbi Margalit and your uncle's partner Mr. Yosef Fichel, and ask them to talk to your uncle on your behalf… and if it is difficult for you, send me their address and I will write them my request. Maybe you have other love ones who will lobby for you.
My dear daughter, we are worried about you and your health. Write me immediately after you receive this letter. Your father, who is blessing you and wishing you a good New Year. May you be inscribed in the Book of Life. Greeting to your dear uncle, to our relatives and friends, I wish them a year of life, peace and all the best.

Dear good Freidale,
Today we learnt about the great tragedy that happened to you and to us, we are shocked from the great loss. Our good beloved aunt is gone. We don't have words to describe what we have lost. Our aunt was more than an aunt to us. It is hard to find someone as good and dedicated as our aunt was. She was a person with many virtues. Our aunt had to live longer for herself and for us. She has done so much for us and aspired to do more.
Freidale, hold on, take care of yourself. Look after our uncle. Don't lose your health. What can you do, you can't go against nature. That's how life is you need to take everything as is. It can't be done differently.
Look Freidale, you need to keep busy, run the household or do something else. Just don't be idle. What is happening with our uncle? Is he working? How does he feel?
Freidale, write us about everything, we are worried about your health. Don't despair, what can we do, we need to experience everything.
I'm asking you to be well and strong.
