Ast, David (Dudileh)	1880 1938	A Torah scholar, made Aliyah in the 1920s thanks to his son, who was a member of the “Hebrew Battalion.” Continued his Torah studies in Eretz Israel. Died in Tel Aviv.
Ekhoiz, Uri	3/24/1906 1968, 20 Kislev 5729	Made Aliyah as a pioneer in 1931. After leaving the Kibbutz, he settled in Tel Aviv, where he worked as a carpenter. He was successful in his work, helping anybody who turned to him.
Bomze (Vitlin), Berta	8/14/1913 7/23/1941	Made Aliyah with her husband Zeev in 1935. Having a friendly character, she was loved by all. Her home was always open for Brzezany people. She was a dedicated mother to her children, Ora and Amos. She died young. Was buried at Kibbutz Merkhavia.

Gutenshtein, Uri, son of Zelig	1901 1973	Made Aliyah as a pioneer in 1922. Settled in Jerusalem and worked at the Electrical Utility Company. Died in Jerusalem.
Goldman, Leib, son of Barukh	12/16/1890 1943, 5 Iyar 5,703	A wealthy merchant. Made Aliyah in 1939. Settled in Haifa. Buried in Givatayim.
Goldman, Ezra, son of Ya'akov	1912 7/22/1974	Was an activist in “HaShomer HaTzair” in Brzezany. Reached Israel through the USSR, where he served in Anders Army. After the War of Independence, he moved with his wife Tzipora to Moshav Be'er Tuvia, where he established a farm and raised three sons: Ilan, Tzvi, and Asher. Was active in the Moshav's affairs and was respected among the members as an honest man. Killed in a traffic accident and was buried in Be'er Tuvia.
Goldman, Dr. Shmuel, son of Avraham	3/16/1892 1/10/1977, 2 Tevet 5,737	Dermatologist. Was active in the Zionist institutions in Brzezany. Got married and moved to Ternov. He spent the Holocaust hell in Auschwitz, where he lost his entire family. Remarried and made Aliyah in 1950. Settled in Haifa and worked in the Histadrut's Kupat Kholim. Died and was buried in Haifa.
Glazer, Moshe, son of Ya'akov Bauer	5.26.1897, 24 Iyar 5,657 4.17.1973, 13 Adar II 5,733	Made Aliyah as a pioneer, with the first group from Brzezany. He was forced to return to Poland due to an illness, where he survived the Holocaust. Made second Aliyah as an “illegal” immigrant on the ship “Yetziat Europa” [Exodus]. Settled in Hadera, where he worked as a teacher. He died in Hadera.
Dorfman (Bleiberg), David	1887, Elul 5,647 12/12/1976, 12 Kislev 5,737	Made Aliyah with his family in 1935 as a wealthy merchant. Settled in Haifa and later moved to Zikhron Ya'akov. Was a philanthropist who donated to various charity organizations. In his last few years, he moved to Jerusalem, where he died.

Vilner, Dr. Khaim, son of Yehuda-Leib	1894 1950	A sharp and successful lawyer in Brzezany. Enthusiastic Zionist and dedicated to public needs and Aliyah. Chairman of “Ezra” and an energetic activist. Expelled to the USSR during the war and made Aliyah after the war. Died in Tel Aviv. Left part of his inheritance to the Hebrew University.
Vilner, Yitzkhak, son of Shmuel	2/11/1902 1/20/1974, 6 Tevet 5734	Native of Nadvirna. Married Sara Gros. One of the first workers of the Electrical Utility Company. Among the builders of the power station in Naharayim. With the evacuation of Naharayim in 1948, he moved to Haifa, where he continued to work in his position. Buried in Haifa.

Helped anybody who turned to him for help, and was remembered as generous among his friends. Died in Tel Aviv. the words “friend of man – Asher Segal.”

Educated his sons to make Aliyah. He fulfilled his aspiration and made Aliyah with his family. Settled in Rishon LeTzion, where he died.

Served as a company commander in the War of Independence. Died in Tel Aviv. Left three sons, members, and activists in the agricultural labor force.

Riger, Arye-Adolf	1906 5/15/1961	He was a lawyer. Survived the Holocaust in a hideout located in Brzezany's municipal hospital. A Zionist at his core. Made Aliyah in 1952 from the USA. Settled in Jerusalem, where he died.

Reizer, Mordekhai, son of Khaim	11/12/1910 12/17/1968, 30 Kislev 5,729	Escaped to the USSR in WW II. Moved to Wrocław, where he was an activist in “Poalei Tzion Left.” Made Aliyah in 1950 and settled in Moshav Gan-Sorek, where he died.
Reikhshtein, Zalman, son of Mordekhai	2/15/1912 5/10/1955	Made Aliyah after the Holocaust and settled in Haifa. Worked in the “Paz” Company. Died in Haifa.
Shumer, Dr. Moshe-Aharon, son of Aba	1/27/1890 5/10/1955	Was a physician and an energetic Zionist. He was recruited to the Red Army in WW II where he served with the rank of Major [Captain 3rd rank]. Made Aliyah after the War & settled in Hadera, where he died and was buried.
Shtreizand, Yosef, son of Meir-Yehuda	1877 7/7/1955, 24 Tammuz 5,715	He was a Zionist and an energetic activist in charity organizations in the R' Yudel Synagogue and “Khevra Kadisha” in Brzezany. The first professional who made Aliyah with his family in 1936. Settled in Kfar Saba, where he was an activist in the synagogue and Burial Society. He died and was buried in Kfar Saba.
Shtreizand, Rakhel, nee Shvam	1878 8/21/1969	R' Yosef's wife. A diligent housewife and helpmate. Died in Haifa and was buried in Kfar Saba.

Schmidt, Nina, daughter of Ya'akov Ogoshevitz	8/27/1927 5/14/1978, 7 Iyar 5,731	Born in Narewka. Survived the Holocaust's hell as a child in a concentration camp. On her way to Israel after the war. She married her husband, Moshe. Settled in Kiryat Frostig. Was buried in Haifa.
Shefer, Gizela, daughter of Ze'ev	1897 10/25/1965	Made Aliyah in 1953. Settled in Haifa near her sister. Died in Haifa.
Shefer-Idikos, Dr. Rakhel, daughter of Ze'ev	1892 3/24/1963	Made Aliyah in 1935. Was a dentist. Owned a private dental clinic in Haifa.
Idikos, Menakhem	1894 6/12/1978	Born in Drohobitz. Worked as a dental technician. Made Aliya with his wife, Dr. Rakhel Shefer. Died in Haifa.
Shneider, Yosef, son of Avraham	1/28/1914 2/3/1950	Made Aliyah as a pioneer in 1937. Was a member of Kibbutz Tel Yitzkhak. Later on, he moved to Haifa, where he worked as a scaffolding(?) erector. Died in Haifa.
Te'eni (Feigenbaum), Benjamin, son of Arye	5/14/1900 2/2/1948, 22 Shvat 5,708	Energetic Zionist. Made Aliyah in 1920 as a pioneering leader and joined the “Khavurat HaEmek” [literally the “Valley Group” of the “Work Battalion”]. In 1925, he was elected to Haifa's Hadar HaCarmel committee, where he modernized and managed the Water Works. Was active in several organizations in Haifa. Killed on a military mission on his way to Tel Aviv. Was buried in the military cemetery in Haifa

Captain Arye Holander

During the Six Days War, on 26 Iyar 5,726 (6/5/1967), he attacked the Rafah compound with a tank company for which he was a deputy commander. Exposed on the tank's turret, he was killed by a direct hit at Rafah junction. Captain Holander was one of the first fallen soldiers in the Six Days War. His life was cut short at the age of 21, at the beginning of his road.

We will remember him always - tall and smiling. His good-hearted nature was reflected in his dark eyes.

Tenenbaum Shmuel

After making Aliyah in the early 1930s, he joined Kibbutz Kfar Etzion, where he established a family. He was killed while defending the kibbutz in the War of Independence, on 5/15/1948, 3 Iyar 5,708.

Heavy is the fate of parents who lose a son, but an indescribable calamity is to lose two sons on the same day. Such a cruel fate hit Leah and Meir Sapir. They lost Dan and his brother Yosi on the same day in the Yom Kippur War.
