Vice President Ladies Auxiliary |
As we join with our parent organization in celebrating a quarter-century of its existence, we are particularly proud that this journal can record so many sold achievements. The history of this Torchiner Society and its Ladies Auxiliary as recorded in these pages is, at best, only a sampling of some of the accomplishments of these devoted men and women. No printed page can describe the human warmth of the undisclosed good deeds performed by these members.
Meetings are not merely organization assemblages but have always been social get-togethers of congenial friends. Enduring friendships have been cemented so that each one, like members of a family, shared both joy and sorrow.
Certainly, no Ladies Auxiliary could have received finer cooperation than we did. Our efforts could not have succeeded without your unstinted support. We look forward to a continuation of our splendid teamwork.
May we express our thanks to you and our heartfelt wish that you have greater and greater success in all your endeavors.

Fin. Secretary of Ladies Auxiliary |
It is most gratifying to me to be present at this, on the occasion of our great holiday, the 25th anniversary of the existence of our Torchiner Woliner Young Men's Organization. It has given me this opportunity to voice my good wishes to each and every one assembled here tonight.
As financial secretary of your Ladies Auxiliary, I have had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with the activity of your organization.
I have been most happy to be so closely affiliated with a society that has, at all times, lived up to and exceeded every expectation by the good that it has done for its members and society at large.
Our noble work, spurred on by the enthusiasm of our great leader, Mrs. Fannie Tublin, and the wonderful participation of our membership, has made the 15 years of my secretary ship seem but a day.
Tonight's celebration cannot help but serve as an inspiration to all of us. Our task is a long and difficult one, and the past 25 years has been but a beginning.
Let us pray that G-d will give us health and strength to continue our noble work and to celebrate your 50th anniversary and all other occasions together. May we express our thanks to you and our heartfelt wish that you have greater and greater success in all your endeavors.
Torchiner Ladies Auxiliary
Fannie Tublin, a born leader, has been the guiding light of our Torchiner Ladies Auxiliary since its inception. She was President four times and has always been interested and concerned. There has never been a time during the existence of the Auxiliary when Fannie Tublin has not been an officer or chairman of some important committee.
Characteristically, she not only performs her own allotted tasks, but also finds the time to assist other members. Her extensive efforts on our behalf have become a by-word. All our undertakings have had her tireless assistance and have been benefited by her advice and performance. Her clear thinking mind has given voice and encouragement to many of our successful ventures.
To show, in some measure, our appreciation of her work and of her leadership, a most enthusiastic testimonial dinner was tendered her by our grateful Ladies Auxiliary.
Not only has she worked tirelessly for and with the Ladies Auxiliary, but the men's organization has also utilized her special talents and energetic will to assist. Her efforts have extended from assembling Passover baskets to providing facilities and aid to members who were ill and destitute.
We, the Ladies Auxiliary, wish to express our fervent prayer that Fannie Tublin will continue her indispensable work for many, many years to come.
Torchiner Ladies Auxiliary
What a monumental amount of work Helen has done! Keeping records and accounts year in and year out is a tedious job, undoubtedly, but she has performed her task willingly and graciously. She is so efficient in her work that we may safely entrust this office to her forever. Furthermore, she is always willing to help in any capacity, wherever she can accomplish the most good. She was of invaluable assistance in the burdensome work of packing and shipping packages overseas.
Indicative of her sympathetic concern, she has always been willing to assume the obligation of visiting sick members, bringing with her, cheerfulness and friendship.
We are certainly indebted to Helen Shapiro, and are happy to have this opportunity to express our gratitude to her. She deserves all the credit and honor we can bestow upon her.

Torchiner Ladies Auxiliary
We pay tribute to the officers and members of our executive board, past and present, for their constant efforts on behalf of our organization. Were it not for their devotion, we would not have been able to accomplish so much.
Our record would not be complete without saluting the following members who have so willingly given their homes and their time and effort to the fullest measure:
Mrs. G. Axman | Mrs. J. Garber | Mrs. B. Stein |
Mrs. A. Axman | Mrs. B. Gold | Mrs. B. Taback |
Mrs. E. Bronfen | Mrs. F. Leightmacher | Mrs. Jos. Tublin |
Mrs. F. Chapnick | Mrs. S. Pugatch | Mrs. T. Tublin |
Mrs. M. Cohen | Mrs. P. Root | Mrs. Rose Tublin |
Mrs. O. Fierer | Mrs. M. Rothenberg | Mrs. A. Wagchul |
Mrs. S. Gildwarg | Mrs. E. Stein | Mrs. S. Waldman |
Mrs. J. Gutz | Mrs. S. Shifris |
Special recognition is given here to Mr. Nathan Boberman for his constant aid to our Ladies Auxiliary.
Our Sister, Helen Katz has been identified with our organization since its inception.
She has been elected and appointed to various offices ranging from the lowest to the highest, and whether she held the office of President or Social Service, she has performed her duties conscientiously and faithfully, regardless of personal sacrifice of her time and vitality.
She has been one of our guiding lights throughout our existence and, if she did once or twice, of necessity, stay away from our meetings, a void was created which no other member could fill.
Her specific and most valuable contribution has been her inborn capability of frankly approaching and pursuing a given problem, vigorously defending the cause, which she believed would benefit the world in general, or certain individuals in particular.
She has, on many occasions, steered the organization on the road to progress and humanitarianism.
In short, she is the kind of a member an organization must have in order to exist and function. We are greatly indebted to her and hope that she will continue to give freely of her talent as a leader and co-worker to our Torchiner Ladies Auxiliary.
The Torchiner Ladies Auxiliary values the inestimable service rendered by you to our organization. Your wise, untiring devotion has so greatly aided the functioning of our Society.
Your alert interest ever furthers the welfare of the Society. It is therefore appropriate to express to you the organization's appreciation by this note of thanks.
Ann & Morris Goldweber
friend, Fannie Tublin. Her loyalty and friendship to
the Torchiner Young Men's Association and its Ladies
Auxiliary have, in a large measure,
contributed to their growth and
progress. We thank her for her
tireless efforts to further the
causes in which we are
so vitally interested.
