In Yiddish, Padubyse A village in the Siauliai district, 8 km southeast of Kurtuvenai. A few dozen Jewish families lived in Padubysys before WWI. During the period of Independent Lithuania the village had 191 residents and among them were 12 Jewish families. In the summer of 1941, when Germany conquered Lithuania, the Jews of Padubysys were taken to Ribukai, and were murdered there. At the beginning of the 1990's, a memorial was erected for the murdered Jews from Padubysys, Lyduvenai and Bulavenai.
