Translated by Shimon Joffe A town, 16 km south west of the district town Utena. In 1889 it had 36 inhabitants, a few shops and artisans (apparently Jewish). In 1923 the town had 257 inhabitants. In the 1930s' Rabbi Shlomo Roz was the town rabbi.
Judging from the number of voters to the Zionist congresses in the 1930s', it may be assumed that a few dozen Jewish families lived in the town. The table below shows the voting pattern to the various parties;
