In Yiddish, Meshkuts A village 6 km south west of the district city of Marijampole, near the Kazlu-Ruda Alytus railway line. The 1923 census counted 6 Jews in Meskuiciai, which apparently were the two families of Shelomo Tov and his married son and their family members. They continued to live in Meskuiciai also at the beginning of WWII. In 1931, there was a grocery store in the village that was owned by Jews. During the first half of July, 1941, two weeks after the Germans conquered Lithuania, the two families were murdered by Lithuanians and their property was plundered.
