Baron De Hirsh Mayer

         Major Baron de Hirsh Mayer

        Baron de Hirsh Mayer, a famous attorney, banker and philanthropist in Miami Beach, was born on April 12 to his parents John and Sarah Mayer in Prairie de Cherrie, Wisconsin. He went to law school at the University of Wisconsin and Harvard. On August 22, 1951 he married Paula Lax, a daughter of Pauline and John Lax of Pittsburgh, PA. Baron de Hirsch Mayer, who was a leading personality in Miami Beach was a trustee of the University of Miami Beach and of Mount Sinai Hospital. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation and of the home for the aged there.

John Mayer

John Mayer, a son of Aharon and Chana Drogitchinsky, was born in 1872 in Drohitchin. His wife Sara was a daughter of Yaakov Yaskulka, and was born on December 9, 1871 in Brisk. John Mayer, who was a businessman, died on August 27, 1942. The Mayers had three children: Leo Mayer, Eva Mayer and Baron de Hirsh Mayer.

Shmuel Goldfarb

        
Shmuel Goldfarb, born in Kobrin, was a businessman, and died on January 20, 1934. Roza, a daughter of R. Aharon and Chana Drogitchinsky, was from Drohitchin and was Shmuel's wife. She died on July 29, 1933. The Goldfarbs had seven children: Sarah Blumenfeld (San Diego), Evelyn Levinson (Detroit), Frances Citron (Chicago), Marion Eskov (Miami Beach), Esther Stone (St. Joseph, Missouri), Alger D. Goldfarb (Highland Park, Illinois) and Hazel Rogers.
