May G-d avenge their blood

[Page 323]

G-d full of mercy, Creator of earth and heaven, Who hears the cries of the sorrowful, Judge of [injustice to] widows and Father of orphans: Do not keep silent and restrain Yourself when the blood of Your people is flowing like water. Grant perfect repose under the Wings of the Divine Presence in the holy and pure heights that shine as the brightness of the firmament, for the thousands of souls of holy [people of] Israel, men, women, boys, girls, infants, and children, who were murdered, slaughtered, strangled, drowned, burnt, and buried alive in the countries of: Poland, Austria, Bulgaria, Belgium, Bukovina, Bessarabia, Galicia, Germany, Denmark, Hungary, Holland, Yugoslavia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Czechoslovakia, France, and other countries of Europe. All are holy and pure, and among them are spiritual personalities, Gaonim, Tzadikim, rabbis, Hassidim, and Yeshiva heads, cedars of Lebanon and mighty [Torah] scholars, and their students. May Our G-d remember them positively, and may their repose be in the Garden of Eden. The Master of Mercies shall shelter them in the protection of His Wings for eternity, and bind their souls in the bounds [of life]. G-d is their inheritance, and may He take revenge on their behalf, and may their sacrifice be remembered for us forever, and may their merit stand for us and for all of Israel.

Earth, do not cover their blood and do not be the place of their cries. By their merits, may the exiled of Israel return to their inheritance, and may these righteous ones be a perpetual remembrance before their Righteous G-d. May they come in peace and rest in their repose, and arise and live again at the End of Days, and let us say Amen.
