9/20/2026 2:58 PM Wish to translate into English.
My aunt Lillie, who this document is about, was born in Sambor in 1909, and her mother Chane Karp, died in 1924 in nyc. Wondering why this document needed, and dated 1925. Chane, Leicie and Malcie emigrated to NYC in 1912 to be with their father Elias/Alex Schreckinger. Feige Karp was Chane’s mother.

9/16/2026 8:24 PM Please translate marriage akt 1 completely: groom's full name, age, birthplace/residence and both parents; bride's full name, age, birthplace/residence and both parents; witnesses with ages; officiant; banns; exact civil-record and marriage dates/places. The groom's given name and both sets of parents are decisive. JRI-Poland indexes groom as "Icka Maysis WOLRAYEK" and bride as "Chawa WASUNGARZ"; please sanity-check those readings. 9/16/2026 8:24 PM "Polish-language marriage record, Kałuszyn, 1850 (act 51). I can read most of it, but I'm unsure of the name of the village/gmina where the groom (and his parents) lived — the phrase is 'we wsi, Gminie ___ zamieszkałym', a few lines below the groom's name. Any help confirming that place name would be greatly appreciated." View the post with its 1 response

9/16/2026 8:24 PM Romanian cursive birth act no. 2, Targu Ocna, registered 5 Jan 1920. Please provide a diplomatic Romanian transcription and English translation, with uncertain letters in brackets. In particular: (1) what is the father’s first name? We cannot read it; (2) what is the child’s birth date, distinct from the registration date; (3) what are the witnesses’ names and ages; and (4) does the mother’s name read “Sofia Clain nascuta Tudic,” or could the first name be Sara/Sura? 115352 Translation - Polish

9/16/2026 8:23 PM From Szukaj w Archiwach.

Akta 34 is my great-great-grandfather’s first-cousin’s 1858 birth record from Zaręby Kościelne, Łomza, Poland. I would be grateful if someone could translate it in full (or at least everything that isn’t the standard wording of a birth record).

Names that I would expect to see in the text are:
- the child: Bejla ZARĘBER;
- her father: Juśk, son of Szmul ZARĘBER & Golda Chajmowna;
- her mother: Zelda, daughter of Abraham WAJNTROB & Mirka Idźkowicz.

Thanks so much! Hopefully the handwriting isn’t too hard to read.

9/13/2026 4:36 PM Could you please translate the Hebrew inscription on the stone? I want to learn Sophia’s father’s name, if possible. She may be Sophia Barrin Winicoff, the sister of my husband’s grandmother, Rose Barrin Kahn. Sophia married Paul Winicoff as his second wife in Philadelphia in 1916. She is last known (to me) to be alive on the 1940 US Census. Rose and Sophia’ s father was Isaac Barrin. His wife was Esther Helner Barrin. Thank you. View the post with its 3 responses

115348 Translation - Tombstone

9/13/2026 4:35 PM Please translate the Hebrew inscription on this portion of a gravestone from 1898. I know what the name of the individual is (the bottom two lines), but I am particularly interested in what the honorific text about the individual states at the top of the stone. I am interested in both the horizontal text, as well as the text shown in the semi-circle at the top of the stone.

Thanks for your help!

This is for record #2. I would like to know if this is for a Hirsch surname. If it IS, I would like to know what it is and what names are included. Thank you!
