Claremont Synagogue has occupied two addresses in Grove Avenue, Claremont, Cape Town.
The first was in a building situated on the north side of Grove Avenue, near Main Road, Claremont.
The second Claremont Synagogue, as featured on this page, was consecrated on 16 April 1967. It was part of a Hebrew school complex on the south side of Grove Avenue, near Newlands Road.
Opposite the synagogue's main entrance, on a bend in the road stands a single-storey house, now part of Grove Primary School but formerly
the home of Mr Joseph Abitz who taught me Hebrew and coached me for my barmitzvah in 1956.
