Welcome to GerSIG!

The JewishGen German Research Division (RD), formerly GerSIG, is a group of researchers dedicated to learning more about the lives of our Jewish ancestors who lived in current and former German-speaking regions of Europe. This includes not only modern-day Germany, but also regions that are today part of Poland and France.

Our group actively looks to collect and exchange histories, resources, data, and research tips. We do this online through this website, the JewishGen discussion list and the JewishGen Germany database. We meet annually at the IAJGS genealogy conference, where the German Research Division often sponsors a speaker.

The JewishGen German RD couldn't exist without its dedicated members. Please join us by signing up for the JewishGen discussion list or by volunteering for one of our projects project!

To learn more about how our website is organized, click 'Get Started' on the top menu bar. If you have questions, or want to contribute something of your own, contact us.
