The Nominating Committee nominated Deena Berton, Paul Hattori, and Sally Mizroch; Bill Yoffee was also nominated during the period for additional nominations. Each of the Candidates has provided a statement, which includes biographical information, research experience, and ideas for the future of the LitvakSIG. Please review these statements before voting.
Ballots will be sent to members on August 3, 2008 by email, with instructions
about voting and returning the ballot. Voting by email will continue until
August 17, 2008. The ballots will include voting to approve the proposed,
revised Bylaws, and the Candidates for the Board of Directors. Members may
vote for three Candidates. There is a requirement that a quorum of at least
10% of the members vote, and the Bylaws and each Candidate must receive 51%
of the votes cast to be approved or elected.
You may still become a member to participate in this election, but to vote
by email ballot, you must join the SIG via the website or your check must
be received by August 12, 2008, in order for the LitvakSIG Treasurer to process
your payment. You can also join the SIG and vote at the beginning of the
annual LitvakSIG meeting on Monday, August 18, 2008 at the IAJGS Conference
in Chicago at 3:30 p.m.
