The Jews of The Bronx

The Bronx, one of New York City’s “outer” boroughs, was home to a large and vibrant Jewish community between about 1910 and 1960. At its height, the Jewish population there was over 500,000 persons, comprising nearly half of the borough’s population.  In his illustrated lecture, Dr. Reiss, who grew up in The Bronx, discusses the rise and decline of this exceptional Jewish community.
