CEMETERIES INTRODUCTION

    This table contains databases created by extracting information from the photographs of headstones from cemeteries in Lithuania, and in South Africa, as well as some cemetery sections in the United States that were owned by Landsmannschaften groups. This information was translated, and the names and any other readable information was input into the files that make up this collective database. Some of the individual files included are:

(1) Kovno Cemetery List (1941-1943)

The Kovno Cemetery List, as compiled by Sylvia Furshman Nusinov, Oct 30^th 1997, is included in the cemeteries table as well as a "stand alone" database on JewishGen.

(2) Keidaner Cemeteries: 

The Keidaner Cemetery List compiled by Ada Green is included in the cemeteries table as well as a "stand alone" database on JewishGen.

(3) Jurbarkas Cemetery:

This database contains a list of approximately 350 photos of headstones, taken in the summer of 1995, at the Jurbarkas (Yurburg) Cemetery, spanning the years 1864-1940.
